Voids are used to correct errors in sales or refund transactions.  They are performed during the same shift and by the same clerk who made the error in the original transaction. 


[IMPORTANT:  Remember, you can only initiate a void after the sale or refund has been processed!  And, you cannot void a void, so ensure all information is correct before proceeding.  Some transactions cannot be voided due to the nature of the item (e.g. top-ups, gift card activations, etc.).]


To void a transaction: 

  1. Navigate to the POS module, click the Special menu button and select Void



[NOTE:  If Local Authorization is configured and you don’t have the permissions to perform the void, a prompt will appear – a user with permission to authorize voids (e.g. Manager, Supervisor, etc.) must enter their login credentials to proceed.]  



      2. A Series-Folio prompt will open.  The folio of the last sale is entered by default.  Click OK to proceed, or scan/enter the intended series-folio in the provided field.  


[NOTE:  If configured, you may be prompted to enter a void reason.]



      3. The Void Detail window will open.  Verify the information presented is correct, then click OK to finalize the void.
