The extension for the Google Chrome browser is installed from the Chrome Web Store:
[NOTE: The V-DOCS for Chrome extension can be configured to automatically send certain pages and/or documents to V-DOCS. Contact Maplewave V-DOCS Support for further information].
- Navigate to the Chrome Web Store and search for the V-DOCS for Chrome extension. Then, download the free extension by clicking the Add to Chrome button.
2. You will be prompted to confirm the download - click the Add Extension button to proceed.
3. A confirmation will appear to indicate the V-DOCS for Chrome extension has been added to your browser. A V-DOCS icon will now appear on the far-right of the address bar.
4. Next, click the Customize and Control Google Chrome button (the button with the 3 vertical dots located by the V-DOCS icon in your browser) and select More Tools and then Extensions from the menus that appear.
5. Chrome's Extensions page will open, listing any extensions that are installed for your Chrome browser. Locate the V-DOCS for Chrome extension and ensure it is enabled - the toggle is blue when activated - then click its Details button.
6. The V-DOCS for Chrome Details page will open. Locate the Allow Access to File URLs setting and activate the toggle - the toggle is blue when activated.
7. Next, close all Chrome browser tabs / windows and relaunch the browser to complete the V-DOCS for Chrome extension installation process.
[NOTE: Google designed Chrome to have individual settings for each user. If multiple people use the same terminal, each user must complete the above steps to add the extensions to their browser].
8. If the Chrome extension is experiencing issues connecting to the V-DOCS Client, a red exclamation point will appear by the V-DOCS icon. Click the icon to reveal a tooltip with the connection error.
