To manually enter a credit card number (e.g. in cases where the magnetic stripe fails, or the card is not available to tap/insert/swipe):

  1. Click the Tender Sale button to finalize the sale, as normal.

  2. The Tender window will open – select the applicable credit card tender.

  3. The Credit Card Amount window will open - click the Manual Entry button

[NOTE:  The PINpad will beep if manual entry is attempted without first selecting this button.  If Manual Entry is selected in error, the customer can still swipe/tap/ insert their card.  The transaction record will show the actual entry method used, regardless of whether OK or Manual Entry was selected.]

      4. The PINpad will present options to swipe, tap or insert the credit card.  Manually enter the credit card number and its expiry date into the PINpad, then press the Enter/OK button on the PINpad once complete.

[NOTE:  The PINPad will not indicate that the user should manually enter the card number, but it will accept the manual entry if the Manual Entry button was selected in NRG Fast Cash in the previous step.]

      5. Then, click the OK button on the Credit Card Amount window once complete.

      6. The Balance will update to $0.00.  Click the Transaction Finished button to complete the sale.

      7. Once approved, the credit card transaction record will print, displaying the partially masked card number.  An M will display after the reference number to indicate the card was manually entered.  The receipt for the transaction will reflect an M below the card description to indicate the manual entry of the card.
