Recalibrating a label printer will resolve the following types of issues:
- The label printer prints, then skips a label (or is skipping labels).
- The label text is overlapping onto the next label.
- The print position is drifting up or down the label.
- The labels stop printing in random locations.
- The label prints but then the Feed button on the printer starts to flash red.
This article covers troubleshooting steps for the following models of printers - refer to the appropriate section, below, for details:
- Zebra LP2824
- ZebraLP2824+

Zebra LP2824
- Make sure the printer is turned off and that the media is loaded.
- Press and hold the Feed button, then turn on the power.
- When the status light blinks, release the Feed button.
- The printer will advance the media to measure and verify the length of the individual labels or tags. The printer will then print a status summary and remain in diagnostic dump mode.
- To begin normal operation, tap the Feed button. The printer will print “out of DUMP” text and then advance a label.
